Sweden and the United Nations Development Programme provide financial assistance to business support organizations to develop their capacities in promoting and providing necessary services to micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) on both banks of the Nistru river, which have been severely affected by the pandemic crisis.
Cooperation partnerships composed of at least two business support organizations from both banks of the Nistru river (sector associations, chambers of commerce and industry, business services’ providers) are eligible to apply. Feasible solutions for improving policies and tools for MSMEs’ recovery on both banks of the Nistru river, especially in case of exporting companies, are sought.
Every partnership may benefit from grant of up to $50,000. The selected partnerships will conduct the activities envisaged in their project proposals during November 2020 – December 2021. The applications forms, the conditions for taking part in the contest, as well as the assessment criteria are available here. The deadline for submitting the applications is 15 October 2020, 4.00 p.m.
The non-reimbursable financial assistance provided by Sweden, in the framework of the “Advanced Cross-River Capacities for Trade” (AdTrade) Project, for selected organizations, will contribute in the long run to improving the business environment, creating jobs and establishing partnerships between the companies on both banks of the Nistru river, so as to overcome the consequences of the pandemic crisis, to increase the export potential and access foreign markets.
The AdTrade project provides assistance for the creation of long-term trade links between entrepreneurs on both banks of the Nistru river and enabling an environment of trust and cooperation in the region. The initiative stimulates and promotes exports of goods and services from the region by accessing the opportunities offered by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA). The project supports the development and enhancement of the competitiveness of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and contributes to the creation of new companies, which, implicitly, will lead to improvement of the living conditions on both banks of the Nistru river. The project is implemented by UNDP during 2019-2022 with financial assistance from Sweden.
