5 steps to prevent gender-based violence. Participatory planning at the local level

December 2, 2021

The booklet “5 steps to prevent gender-based violence. Participatory planning at the local level” is addressed to the representatives of the local public authorities from all over the country.

The methodological material describes, in stages, how mayors and deputy mayors can contribute to the prevention of gender-based violence in their communities, how they can contribute to the implementation of the legislation in the field and adopt concrete measures for the protection and support of victims. A separate chapter is dedicated to the planning of prevention activities and the resources that should be involved for this purpose. At the same time, the guide describes ways to involve residents and specialists in planning and implementing measures to prevent and combat gender-based violence.

The initiative is part of a larger project to prevent gender-based violence, implemented by UNDP with the support of the Republic of Korea, which has been taking place in Gagauzia region since 2018.
