Assessment report on the conformity of the Moldovan national anticorruption system to major international standards related to corruption and integrity in private sector, including a set of concrete recommendations

This report was commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the project “Strengthening the corruption prevention and analysis functions of the National Anti-corruption Center” implemented with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The aim of this report is to assess the conformity of the national legal and policy system, including legal and normative framework, vis-à-vis the major international standards in the fighting to corruption and increasing the integrity management in the private sector. The assessment intends to support and strengthen the capacity of the National Anti-Corruption Center (NAC) of Moldova in understanding and tackling corruption in business. The analysis takes into consideration both relevant information and documentation (including laws, policies and strategies), as well as available perceptions-based and qualitative data, gathered through a series of meetings with relevant national officials and practitioners held in Chisinau during June/July 2016. The final part of report provides conclusions and recommendations, which will help NAC to improve corruption prevention measures and integrity management in the private sector.
