The European Union offers financial support/grants for projects that aim to create or consolidate cooperation platforms between business associations and NGOs from both banks of Nistru river.

Non-profit organizations from left bank and from right bank of Nistru are invited to apply for grants of up to 25,000 Euros each. Projects must envisage business cooperation and confidence building initiatives between business associations and NGOs from both sides of Nistru. The implementation period of the projects is October 2019 – October 2021.

The Grants Program’s Announcement, Applicant’s Guide and the Application Form are accessible here. The deadline for submitting project proposals is 28 August 2019, 16:00.

Information meetings will be held in Chisinau, on 5 August, 11.00, at Jolly Alon hotel, and in Tiraspol, on 6 August, 11.00, at Rossiya hotel.

At earlier stages of the programme, 8 cooperation platforms between business associations on both banks of Nistru river received financial support from the EU. Thanks to the platform-approach, agricultural associations managed to promote their members at joint stands at international fairs and to sign export contracts with Western partners. Also, Tourist Information Centers were open in Chisinau and Tiraspol, a Center to promote ecological agriculture was created, and entrepreneurs on both banks gained access to information about the market on the left bank of Nistru, thanks to a partnership between the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Tiraspol and the Moldovan-French Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

The grants competition is launched by the European Union’s “Confidence Building Measures” Programme, implemented by UNDP. The Programme contributes to building confidence among the inhabitants from both banks of the Nistru river by involving them in joint activities.
