The Filmmakers’ camp, the first laboratory of ideas in the electoral field, was successfully completed. For two days, the participants, young filmmakers, learned from the team of Atelier “Sergiu Prodan PR & Advertising” and of the Central Electoral Commission, tricks and rules for making a motivational video on elections. The eight formed teams went home with many ideas, but also feeling their full responsibility.

In the Republic of Moldova, at least once every two years elections take place. Therefore, during each election, the Central Electoral Commission and several non-governmental organizations conduct voter educations campaigns to motivate people to vote, to inform them bout elections and to encourage them to be active and accountable in the process. This time, the organizers of the event have challenged young people to contribute to motivating voters by producing compelling and notable videos to be broadcast at the next upcoming elections in the Republic of Moldova.

“Over the years, CEC has carried out several campaigns to inform and motivate citizens by inviting them to participate and be active in elections. Through this activity, we challenge you to be creative, to be free to explore your ideas and to achieve them in the end," said Alina Russu, Chairperson of the Central Electoral Commission.

Dima Al-Khatib, UNDP Resident Representative, said: “I am delighted to be here today, in a room full of creative and inventive young women and men that accepted our challenge and are enthusiastic about convincing their peers to participate in elections and public life through multi-media production.”

In a month, a professional jury will evaluate the video clips created by young people, and the authors of the best 3 videos will be awarded. The awards are:

  • 1st Place - GoPro Hero 7 Cameras
  • 2nd Place - Marshall Major III Wireless Headphones
  • 3rd Place - Wacom Intuos Graphic Tablets
