First Moldovan-Czech Forum dedicated to green energy is taking place in Chisinau today. The event will initiate a cooperation and experience-sharing platform with relevant actors from the biomass sector of the Czech Republic.

Experts in biomass energy sector, representatives of companies specialized in green technologies production and promotion in both countries discussed the biomass energy sector’s evolution in Czech Republic and in Republic of Moldova. The participants discussed new legislative and normative regulations in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sector, actions necessary for the harmonious development of green energy sector in the Republic of Moldova.

“Moldova is planning to use its agricultural waste for heating and electricity generation, and the Czech Republic has an extensive experience in using biomass and Czech companies have the necessary technologies. This might create fruitful synergies and great room for business cooperation,” said Pavel Činčera, BEZK director, Czech Republic.

The Czech Biomass Association BIOM and Biomass Energy Cluster signed a Memorandum of Cooperation during the Forum. The Memorandum defines key areas and cooperation forms between both entities. “Internationalization of biofuel activities through exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects represents a new phase in biofuel sector’s development in the Republic of Moldova, which is one of the priorities of the Biomass Energy Cluster,” stated Vladimir Bragaru, President of Biomass Energy Cluster. The Moldovan Biomass Cluster was launched in 2017 under the Moldova Energy and Biomass Project support and embraces 27 members:  private companies, public authorities, research institutions, universities, active associations of green energy sector.

The Czech companies presented their portfolio in promoting green technologies on European market: bio-gas production installation and heating and electricity production, solid biofuel production lines, biomass heating systems. Moldovan companies showcased their achievements in the sector and expressed their wish to establish partnerships with experienced companies from European Union’s countries. “The Republic of Moldova is at consolidation phase of its biofuel market. Cooperation with Czech companies in this field is an opportunity for businessmen and women in the country. The exchange of experience with Czech partners will help us to reduce possible risks associated with this kind of businesses,” said Vladimir Vorobiov, biofuel producer from the Republic of Moldova.
