More than 50 successful ECO projects have been registered for Moldova Eco-Energetica Contest
More than 50 files have been submitted for Moldova Eco-Energetica Contest, 2014 Edition, most of them competing for the Best Solar Energy Project, Best Geothermal Energy Project and Best Bioenergy Project. Private individuals, public institutions, private entities, civil society and Mass-media representatives submitted innovative projects on using and promoting renewables and energy efficiency within the Contest active period, i.e. 5 March – 5 August 2014.
The participants to the Contest submitted their files for 9 different categories, including 12 subcategories representing all ways of using renewable energy sources and enhancing energy efficiency, as well as categories aimed at promoting renewables and energy efficiency.
The files will be assessed by 16 experts grouped in evaluation panels on the basis of specific assessment criteria set up for each category, outlined by the Regulation for organising and conducting Moldova Eco-Energetica Contest 2014. Each panel is composed of four people representing the government entities related to the area of renewables and energy efficiency, energy sector notorious professionals, Academia and civil society representatives, journalists, Mass-media and communication experts. The Contest files will be reviewed in three stages: (1) assessment by the evaluation panels; (2) field visit for verification purposes for the first three short-listed files selected for each category; and (3) decision taken by the Coordinating Council.
Winners of Moldova Eco-Energetica Contest 2014 will be made known and awarded with trophies and other valuable prizes at the Moldova Eco-Energetica Gala to be held on 5 December 2014 in Chisinau.
Currently Moldova Eco-Energetica Contest is at its third Edition. This is the largest competition organised to reward successful initiatives in the area of renewables and energy efficiency. The Contest pursues the goal to support the most important initiatives aiming to efficiently produce, transport, distribute and use the energy derived from renewable sources, and to develop and boost advanced technologies, innovations in the area of renewables and energy efficiency.
Moldova Eco Energetica is organised by the Ministry of Economy and Energy Efficiency Agency, upon the initiative of and in partnership with Moldova Energy and Biomass Project, funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by UNDP Moldova.
