The „Support to Confidence Building Measures” Programme, financed by the European Union, co-funded and implemented by UNDP, organized grants competition aimed at increasing confidence between people living on both banks of Nistru River.
On November 15, 2012 the second round of the grants competition ended, to which 116 project proposals have been submitted by non-governmental organizations. The project proposals will be evaluated by a special committee consisting of representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UDNP), Delegation of the European Union to Moldova, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the international organisations acting in the Republic of Moldova. The projects will be selected based on the pre-established criteria set in the applicant’s guide according to two streams of grants: grants for organisations with extensive experience in projects’ implementation and small grants. In the first case, projects will be selected from the following areas: mass media, arts and culture, joint research and analysis and promotion of democratic values. Within the second stream of grants, the focus will be on selecting original projects, containing elements of confidence building between both banks of Nistru River, and which respond to the real needs and priorities of the communities they represent.
