Thanks to the intervention of development partners, the maternity departments in three hospitals were renovated and equipped with modern equipment, and the medical staff received training. The perinatal system on the eastern side of the Nistru has been upgraded within the framework of a set of projects implemented by three UN agencies – UNDP, UNICEF and WHO – with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and of the European Union (EU).
