UNDP joins repeatedly this year the initiative "Planting good deeds for Moldova"

UNDP Moldova continues to involve in afforestation initiatives. UNDP has again joined the initiative "Planting good deeds for Moldova" which has planted over 2,000 trees and shrubs on 4 hectares’ area in Tohatin on 25 March 2017.

Thus, UNDP Moldova expresses its support for civic initiatives in the field of environment and its interest in environmental issues in the Republic of Moldova. Withal, the participation in planting is part of the actions for the improvement of ecological situation in the country.

It is worth noting that only in the autumn of last year, the UNDP Project for Biodiversity Conservation has planted ecological corridors on a surface of 100 ha in the districts of Soroca, Stefan Voda, while another project Clima East Moldova has planted forests over 150 ha on degraded land in the district of Orhei.

UNDP is the partner of the project "Planting good deeds for Moldova" right from its launch in 2015, when about 2,000 trees were planted on a former garbage dump in the village of Bubuieci.
