  • Territorial and land-use planning will take into account biodiversity conservation Aug 20, 2015The Ministry of Environment, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is launching a project meant to support biodiversity conservation, by mainstreaming these aspects into Moldova’s territorial and land-use planning policies. With a budget of almost 1 million USD provided by the Global Environment Facility, the Project will last for four years: 2015-2019.

  • Innovation brings local authorities closer to citizensAug 18, 2015Four Moldovan communities will engage innovative solutions to address local challenges and respond to citizens’ needs. The Government of Denmark, through the Joint Integrated Local Development Programme (JILDP), will provide support to those communities by offering five thousand USD grants to each of them. Also, Moldova Social Innovation Hub will assist the communities in designing the innovative solutions.

  • More than 50 applications have been registered for the Competition “Moldova Eco-Energetica”Aug 10, 2015More than 50 applications were received for the Competition “Moldova Eco-Energetica”, 2015 Edition. Most of them shall compete for the “Best Solar Energy Project”, “Best Bioenergy Project” and “Best Energy Efficiency Project” chapters. Individuals, public institutions, private companies, civil society and media representatives submitted innovative projects tackling the use and promotion of renewables and energy efficiency during the timeframe, 5 March – 5 August 2015.

  • Over 250 applications for the Subsidy Program for Biomass Boilers filed Aug 10, 2015Over 250 applications for joining the Subsidy Program for Biomass Boilers have been filed up to this moment at the Agency for Energy Efficiency, the limited number of offers from households being thus completed in the very first day of registration. Within the next period, the AEE will only accept applications from small and micro-enterprises wishing to install biomass based heating systems, with reimbursement of the cost from European funds, the maximum admissible number being 50 offers.

  • Second round of grants to promote business innovations: deadline 22 August 2015Aug 6, 2015The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova announces the launching of the second round of grants competition for small and medium enterprises willing to apply innovations in their businesses. The maximum grant amount is USD 8,000 or 60% of the total budget of the project, the applicant covering not less than 40% of the total value.

  • Expectations of local communities to be discussed in a major media campaignAug 5, 2015People from 20 localities across the Republic of Moldova are invited to debate on current issues in a major journalistic project conducted by Radio Free Europe, in partnership with the Joint Integrated Local Development Programme (JILDP). The campaign slogan is „Watch. Listen. Understand”.

  • The EU Reimbursing the Procurement Cost of Biomass Boilers Aug 5, 2015The EU funded Moldova Energy and Biomass Project is launching, in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Agency, a Subsidy Program for the Procurement of Biomass Boilers designed for Households, Micro- and Small Enterprises. The subsidy amount is 1,300 Euro and 700 Euro, set-up depending on the technical parameters of the selected boiler. The total number of Subsidy Program beneficiaries will amount to 300, including 250 households, and 50 enterprises.

  • Closing the Gap: Women Economic Empowerment and Inclusion in Decision Making in MoldovaAug 3, 2015The work of UNDP Moldova to provide promote gender equality was featured in the report Closing the gap: An overview of UNDP results in gender equality in Europe and the CIS. The report outlines the key results achieved by UNDP Country Offices in promoting gender equality in 2014 and the first quarter of 2015.

  • Chisinau Municipality Representatives and Engineering Companies are trained in Energy Performance ContractingJul 30, 2015In the period of 28-30 July, 35 specialists from central and local public authority professionals as well as engineering company experts attended two trainings conducted by ESCO Moldova Project dealing with the implementation of Energy Performance Contracts. Energy Service Company (ESCO) is private business unit that provides integrated financial and technical solutions for achieving energy cost reductions (energy savings), and whose overall compensations are linked to the performance (Energy Performance Contract) of the implemented solutions.

  • Moldovan mayors learn from the Polish experience in Local Economic DevelopmentJul 28, 2015Mayors of 12 communities in Moldova went on a study tour to Poland between July 19-24, 2015, to learn from the successful practices in local economic development. The visit was organized by the Joint Integrated Local Development Programme (JILDP).
