Inclusive Growth

  • Formulation of National Human Development Reports

    The project supports the formulation of National Human Development Reports (NHDRs) and policy briefs in key development areas that complement NHDRs.

  • Innovative business development for local sustainable economic growth

    The Project aims at spurring innovations in small and mid-sized business start-ups and business development process for the generation of sustainable jobs at local level and strengthening of the LPAs capacities to manage autonomously such processes.

  • Migration and Local Development

    The project aims to improve access to local public services, by empowering and engaging migrants into sustainable local development. To that end, central and local public authorities will be enabled to develop and implement strategic policies related to temporary, permanent and circular migration and link them to local development processes; thus enabling further design and implementation of joint service and income-generating initiatives with equal access for women, children, young people the elderly, the disabled, and other population groups from selected localities.

  • Network of Career Advisory Centers in the Republic of Moldova

    The Project represents a logical continuation of the Innovative Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Employment Project implemented during 2013-2015 and through which 5 Career Advisory Centres were opened and functional in the Republic of Moldova.

  • Support for agriculture and rural development in ATU Gagauzia and Taraclia

    The SARD Programme aims to boost the collaboration between central and local authorities, as well as among the regional organizations from ATU Gagauzia and Taraclia district, so as to foster the social-economic development of the region and of the Republic of Moldova as a whole.

Effective Governance

  • Construction of the Palanca Jointly Operated Border Crossing Point

    The overall objective of the project is to create from the ground a jointly operated border crossing point at Palanca, on the territory of Moldova. The new crossing point will be built respecting all EU standards and principles on border control administration, ensuring improved conditions for safe and transparent business and trade, movement of people and goods across the border.

  • Moldova Democracy Programme

    The Moldova Democracy Programme is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the Parliament and Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova, improving their main functions and entrenching gender and human rights aspects in formal political and electoral process.

  • Moldova Social Innovation Lab (MiLab)

    The project aims to establish a Social Innovation Hub, which will act as a multilateral platform to engage actors from different sectors (public, private, non-profit, etc.) to seek and experiment with innovative approaches to the society’s problems.

  • The project aims to support the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova enhance capacities in law-making, oversight and representation functions, during the on-going process of domestic reform spurred by closer relations with the EU.

  • The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the rule of law and human rights protection in the Republic of Moldova in-line with international human rights standards, Justice Sector Reform Strategy (2011 – 2016) and its Action Plan, and National Human Rights Action Plan (2011-2014) and mainstreaming human rights based approach, equality, gender issues and inclusion.

Climate Change, Environment and Energy

  • Biodiversity mainstreaming project

    Biodiversity in Moldova struggle permanent threats in the result of human encroachment through land conversion; soil erosion; pollution; non-native and/ or invasive species; unsustainable grazing; habitat fragmentation because of infrastructure development; illegal logging, collection of rare plants, hunting and fishing; and climate change. Biodiversity mainstreaming project aims to enhance the effective biodiversity management outside Protected Areas in order to maintain the ecological integrity of Moldova’s ecosystems.

  • Clima East Moldova: Climate change mitigation and ecosystem-based adaptation in Orhei National Park

    The project is responding to the main biodiversity challenges in the Orhei National Park area (33,792 ha) and its buffer zone such as vulnerability to climate change, loss of biodiversity and forest area, deep soil erosion and landslides, pasture degradation and low grazing capacity of existing pastures.

  • Climate Change Adaptation Planning Process in Moldova

    The project aims to ensure that Moldova has the system and capacities in place for medium to long term adaptation planning and budgeting contributing to reduced vulnerability of the population and key sectors to the impacts of climate change.

  • Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction in Moldova

    Moldova’s economy, population, and environment are highly exposed and vulnerable to natural hazards. Climate change is expected to amplify the exposure to climate and disaster risks and to hydro-meteorological hazards. The Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction project aims to help reduce disaster and climate risks in Moldova through development of national and local risk management capacities.

  • ESCO Moldova

    “ESCO Moldova - Transforming the market for Urban Energy Efficiency in Moldova by introducing Energy Service Companies” project objective is to create a functioning, sustainable and effective ESCO market in Moldova by converting existing energy service provider companies into ESCO companies, as the basis for scaling up mitigation efforts in the whole municipal building sector in Moldova, leading to CO2 emission reductions by implementing energy performance contracts.
