Deputy Resident Representative
Mr. Stefan Liller (Sweden) was appointed as UNDP Deputy Resident Representative for the Republic of Moldova in October 2016.
Prior to this appointment, Stefan served as Country Programme Specialist at UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub in 2015-2016, Programme Specialist at UNDP Headquarters in 2012-2014, Assistant Resident Representative at UNDP Uzbekistan in 2011-2012, Assistant Country Director at UNDP Vietnam in 2009-2011, Deputy Regional Representative of UNODC in Eastern Africa in 2007-2009 and Head of the Justice and Security Unit at UNODC Colombia in 2005-2007. Mr. Liller joined the United Nations as a consultant with UNDP Panama in 2003.
Stefan holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics and a Bachelor and Master of Law from Stockholm University.
He has programmatic and policy experience from a number of thematic areas ranging from democratic governance and rule of law to socio-economic development and energy and environment, and a proven track record of turning innovative ideas into programming. He has worked in conflict, post conflict, low income and middle-income country contexts. He also has work experience from the private sector.
Mr. Liller is married with three children. He speaks English and Spanish.
